Overwatch 2 Season 12: New Support Hero 'Iris' and Push Map 'Nexus'
Overwatch 2 adds a new support hero and exciting new map for Push mode.
Overwatch 2 Season 12 has arrived, bringing with it a new support hero and an exciting new Push map. Iris, the game’s 38th hero, is a robotic support with abilities focused on healing and crowd control.
Iris’s abilities include:
- Healing Matrix: A targeted heal that creates a temporary shield
- Gravity Well: Pulls enemies towards a central point
- Emergency Protocol: Boosts movement speed and healing output for a short duration
- System Override (Ultimate): Takes control of an enemy hero for a limited time
The new map, Nexus, is set in a futuristic city with multiple objectives and vertical gameplay opportunities. The map features a unique central structure that can be used to gain high ground advantage.
Blizzard has also announced changes to the competitive ranking system, including a new “Champion” rank above Grandmaster and adjustments to how skill ratings are calculated.
Season 12 also introduces a new Battle Pass with over 80 tiers of rewards, including legendary skins for popular heroes like Tracer, Reinhardt, and the new hero Iris.
